Am instalat Ubuntu 8.10 si merge bine, dar... 1) Pe unele site-uri - cum e si acesta- nu se vede chiar asa de bine, literele mai ales. Ce pot face? (La instalare, Ubuntu mi-a sugerat sa activez un driver pentru placa video Nvidia, ceea ce am si facut; dar aici se vedea bine cu windows, nu stiu ce se intampla). 2) M-ar interesa un program de securitate pentru Ubuntu, cu anti-virus, anti-spam, firewall etc, asa cum aveam si Kaspersky pentru Windows, si ala chiar a meritat sa-l cumpar. Si ce inseamna "they should apply security patches regularly"? Este procesul de update automat al Ubuntului sau trebuie instalate de noi? Totusi poti sa postezi ce iti apare cand dai cat /var/log/Xorg.0.log | grep NVIDIA2) Antivirus nu. Firewall e recomandat sa ai, mai ales ca nu esti familiar cu serviciile linux. Oricum daca nu iti pui firewall nu e problema, doar sa nu lasi foarte multe foi in imprimanta . Preferatul majoritatii e iptables, nu e simplu pentru un incepator insa sunt sigur ca pe Ubuntu se dau undeva niste clickuri.In lumea Linux sunt doua principii primul e sa iti faci mereu update la zi pentru ca imediat cum se va afla de un bug va fi rezolvat, celalalt e sa nu iti faci deloc update doar sa aplici cateva patchuri de securitate, considerandu-se ca pachetele cu cat sunt mai vechi cu atat sunt testate de mai multi.In concluzie, e recomandat sa iti faci update cat mai des.
