Google originally announced plans to build an experimental ultra-high speed network, just last month, hoping to reach between 50,000 and 500,000 people in a selected build location.In the hope that Google will choose their city as the final building site, some users have been creating Youtube videos and Facebook groups, organizing public rallies and even renaming their corner of Florida to 'Google Island'.When Google does finally get its selected site up and running, users can expect to receive speeds of up to 1 gigabit per second, with a fiber connection directly to the users' home.Google said it will be conducting site visits, meeting with local officials and consulting with third-party organizations before announcing its final decision, stated to be given by the end of this year.Youtube clip:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wusklcNKDZc&feature=player_embedded Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
