oXyGeN Posted December 7, 2010 Report Posted December 7, 2010 Wikileaks spokesman Julian Assange has been arrested by police in London and will appear in court later today.A spokesman for Scotland Yard said: "Assange was arrested by appointment at a central London police station at 9.30 this morning."He will appear at City of Westminster magistrates later today."Thirty-nine-year old Assange was arrested by the Met's Extradition Unit on behalf of Swedish authorities. He was arrested on a European arrest warrant issued by Sweden.The Metropolitan Police said: "He is accused by the Swedish authorities of one count of unlawful coercion, two counts of sexual molestation and one count of rape, all alleged to have been committed in August 2010."Sursa: theregister.co.uk Quote
