Kwelwild Posted May 20, 2013 Report Posted May 20, 2013 Description: RFID SecurityRFID smartcards are often thought of as being a secure means for access control and personal identification. To make RFID smartcards ‘more secure’, companies implemented technologies such as MIFARE and iCLASS. Yet, still these security features are easily defeated with the right tools. One such tool is the proxmark3, which is capable of reading and simulating almost any type of RFID tag/card. It’s been around for a few years now and is a continuous work-in-progress that allows it to support the latest technologies and newer features. This device makes it capable for anyone to steal your Near Field Communication (NFC) credit cards , or lift your smartcard you use for access control — below we’ll show you how to get the client for proxmark3 on your android device.Going further with your proxmark3The PM3 has a limited stand-alone mode if you connect it to an external USB power source, otherwise one would typically use the device while connected to a laptop/PC to power it over USB and control it via CLI. Obviously in a penetration test or social engineering scenario, discretion and mobility would be ideal. Therefore, we thought it would be perfect to use the proxmark3 on android for a couple of reasons — First of all, mobility would be greatly improved. Secondly, you can discreetly control and watch the device via the full feature CLI. Also, you open up more useful possibilities like being able to remotely control the device over SSH.Full post: Owning RFID: Proxmark3 on your androidDisclaimer: We are a infosec video aggregator and this video is linked from an external website.
