China, US and Korea Are Top Sources for Malicious Software says Kenya

In a report by The Telecommunication Service Providers of Kenya (TESPOK) which analyzes the cyber threats that target the country’s systems, China is the country from where most of the Malicious software found on Kenyan systems.

China is closely followed by the United States and Korea, but Brazil, South Africa and India are also on the list, Daily Nation informs.

The report is based on data collected from various Kenyan organizations by TESPOK’s Industry Computer Security and Incident Response Team (ICSIRT) over a period of three months ending in June 2013.

Malwares which were identified in most of the place are the Slammer Worm and Mariposa Trojan.

VoIP services have been identified as being a favorite attack vector for phishing scams, toll fraud, denial-of-service (DOS) attacks and eavesdropping.
