Google is opting to make its annual Pwnium competition a year-round global opportunity with an endless bounty of reward money. In previous years, Pwnium was held once a year during a security conference, and security researchers would need to have a bug chain in March, pre-register for the event and be present at the competition's location, Google wrote on its blog. Now, researchers can submit bugs throughout the year through the Chrome Vulnerability Reward Program. “By allowing security researchers to submit bugs all year-round, collisions are significantly less likely and security researchers aren't duplicating their efforts on the same bugs,” Google wrote. The top available reward is $50,000, but the company's lawyers also noted in the post that, “this is an experimental and discretionary rewards program and Google may cancel or modify the program at any time.” Source
