Yet Microsoft failed to answer Apple on tablets and lost the presidents of its Office and entertainment and devices divisions along with Ray Ozzie, the man handpicked by none other than Bill Gates to become Microsoft's next chief software architect. Microsoft also placed all its internet chips on HTML5 while slowly backing off Silverlight, which it's been championing for three years as its cross-platform runtime for applications and media on the web. Was 2010 a turnaround year for Microsoft as some are suggesting? Or more of the same?
