One way to make passwords obsolete -- just keep typing

Keystroke authentication identifies your typing patterns and could make passwords a thing of the past.

Remembering a clunky password could become a thing of the past, according to researchers at Iowa State University.

Morris Chang, an associate professor of engineering, and his team are working on keystroke authentication -- a way of identifying you by the way you type and how long you pause between keystrokes. Ultimately, such a technique could block unauthorized users based on their typing patterns from gaining access to an account.

Using biometrics to identify and authenticate users isn't new -- think fingerprint recognition or iris scans. But those are one-time verifications. What makes keystroke authentication more secure is the fact that typing patterns are continuously monitored.

Also, there's an added layer of security.

"You can steal passwords," says Chang. "But you can't steal biometrics."

M-am gandit si eu la metoda asta acum 5 ani si pana la urma tot e breakable.

In plus, daca schimbi tastatura s-ar putea sa ai si tu probleme sa te loghezi.

Problema e urm?toarea: eu scriu cu ambele mâini. ?i s? zicem c? îmi rup o mân? (sau c? o am ocupat?). Nu am cum sa scriu la fel de repede ca înainte. Asta înseamn? c? nu îmi mai pot intra pe PC pân? nu îmi rezolv problema cu mâna?

Merge bine treaba cu scrisul, dar de mana pe o tableta ceva , are caracteristici similare cu ale amprentei.

da.. are ?i dezavantaje.. eventual merge combinat? metoda cu o parol? simpl? text, pentru.. când ai probleme.

Macro pe tastatura, si iti scrie parola rapid printr-o apasare de buton , cu piciorul, mana sau alte chestii.
