Problema protectiei minorilor pe site-urile de social networking nu este o tema noua, ci doar una mereu de actualitate. Cifrele sunt cu atat mai ingrijoratoare cu cat au fost identificati doar cei care au fost condamnati anterior si care si-au folosit numele reale. Daca numarul acestora ajunge la 100.000, numarul persoanelor care reprezinta un risc pentru minori poate fi mult mai mare. Firefox 3.0.6 ofera mai multa siguranta de Alex Hanea | 4 februarie 2009 Mozilla a anuntat lansarea unui update la Firefox care rezolva cateva probleme de securitate si de instabilitate ale browser-ului. Versiunea 3.0.6 ofera solutia pentru sase bug-uri, dintre care cel mai grav este cel legat de JavaScript-ul care afecta motorul de afisare. Vulnerabilitatea este cu atat mai mare cu cat permite utilizarea unui cod neautorizat care sa intervina asupra calculatorului, potrivit declaratiilor companiei. Browserul de la Mozilla detine, in prezent, 21,53% din piata, fiind in crestere cu trei procente, fata de principalul sau rival, Internet Explorer, care are 67,55% dar care a scazut cu 7 procente in cursul anului trecut, conform datelor furnizate de Net Applications. Google vrea sa transforme PC-urile in istorie de Bianca Dinu | 2 februarie 2009 Google va lansa un serviciu prin care vom putea sa accesam propriile computere de oriunde, atata timp cat vom dispune de conexiune la Internet. Fiind cel mai asteptat program de la Google, GDrive a primit critici chiar inainte de lansare, cum ca o astfel de initiativa nu va aduce altceva decat inca o “sansa” la pierderea controlului asupra datelor personale. Parerile sunt impartite, totusi, zvonindu-se ca Google Drive, sau Gdrive, ar putea scoate definitiv din calcul rolul hard drive-ului. In locul acestuia, datele personale ale utilizatorului precum si un sistem de operare vor putea fi stocate pe serverele Google si accesate pe Internet. Desi ideea gigantului american nu e noua, unul dintre marile beneficii ale utilizarii Google Drive este acela ca pierderea unui laptop sau stricarea unui hard drive nu va mai fi atat de catastrofala. Astfel, computerul de acasa sau de la birou se va transforma intr-un dispozitiv simplu si neutru ce va actiona mai degraba ca un software decat un hardware.
