WhatsApp has always prioritized making your data and communication as secure as possible. And today, we're proud to announce that we've completed a technological development that makes WhatsApp a leader in protecting your private communication: full end-to-end encryption. From now on when you and your contacts use the latest version of the app, every call you make, and every message, photo, video, file, and voice message you send, is end-to-end encrypted by default, including group chats. The idea is simple: when you send a message, the only person who can read it is the person or group chat that you send that message to. No one can see inside that message. Not cybercriminals. Not hackers. Not oppressive regimes. Not even us. End-to-end encryption helps make communication via WhatsApp private – sort of like a face-to-face conversation. If you're interested in learning more about how end-to-end encryption works, you can read about it here. But all you need to know is that end-to-end encrypted messages can only be read by the recipients you intend. And if you're using the latest version of WhatsApp, you don't have to do a thing to encrypt your messages: end-to-end encryption is on by default and all the time. We live in a world where more of our data is digitized than ever before. Every day we see stories about sensitive records being improperly accessed or stolen. And if nothing is done, more of people's digital information and communication will be vulnerable to attack in the years to come. Fortunately, end-to-end encryption protects us from these vulnerabilities. Encryption is one of the most important tools governments, companies, and individuals have to promote safety and security in the new digital age. Recently there has been a lot of discussion about encrypted services and the work of law enforcement. While we recognize the important work of law enforcement in keeping people safe, efforts to weaken encryption risk exposing people's information to abuse from cybercriminals, hackers, and rogue states. While WhatsApp is among the few communication platforms to build full end-to-end encryption that is on by default for everything you do, we expect that it will ultimately represent the future of personal communication. The desire to protect people's private communication is one of the core beliefs we have at WhatsApp, and for me, it's personal. I grew up in the USSR during communist rule and the fact that people couldn't speak freely is one of the reasons my family moved to the United States. Today more than a billion people are using WhatsApp to stay in touch with their friends and family all over the world. And now, every single one of those people can talk freely and securely on WhatsApp. Jan and Brian source : https://blog.whatsapp.com/10000618/end-to-end-encryption?

Ian Murdock, the founder the Debian Linux operating system and the creator of apt-get, has passed away. Yes, it is very sad to announce that Ian Murdock is not between us. His death has touched the entire software community. He was just 42. The announcement of Murdock death came out via a blog post on Docker website, where Murdock was working as a member of the technical staff. The cause of death is unclear at present, but Murdock tweeted the same day that he would commit suicide that night. His Twitter account had since been deleted. However, at that time, some people speculated that Murdock’s account had been hacked and that the tweets were not by him. Murdock posted some Tweets on Monday suggesting he had been involved in a police case and has been beaten by the police and charged with battery. However, neither Docker, nor the San Francisco Police Department immediately commented on Murdock’s actual cause of death. Murdock developed Debian in August 1993 — and yes the “ian” in the project’s name is from Ian Murdock. In the past, He also worked at Sun Microsystems and served as the CTO of the Linux Foundation. It is with deep regret that we say goodbye to our great friend, the most significant contributor to Linux community, our beloved Ian Murdock.

Daniel Bug?rin, programator: „Am descoperit vulnerabilit??i în diverse institu?ii publice. Nu are rost s? dau nume. Asta se datoreaz? faptului c? mul?i dintre angaja?i sunt, hai s? zicem...ie?i?i din uz e un termen cam greu, dar învechi?i. Probleme au ?i re?elele sociale. "Hackers claim ISIS Militants linked to Paris Attacks had a Bitcoin Wallet worth $3 Million" The world watched in horror as coordinate attacks in Paris Friday night killed over 130 people and 352 injured in the deadly attacks that rocked the city of Paris on Friday. Over 20 attackers have so far been part of the terrorist cell that planned the deadly Paris attacks, with seven suicide bombers dead, seven attackers under arrest and a total of six people on the run. The attacks were carried out by Islamic State (ISIS), who later claimed responsibility for targeting innocent people at 'soft' locations that lack police or military protection, including Bataclan concert venue where at least 89 people lost their lives. Following the bloody terror attacks, the hacktivist collective Anonymous declared war on the Islamic State (IS, formerly ISIS/ISIL) saying, "We will launch the biggest operation ever against you." But the Question here is: From Where did the terrorist cell that planned the brutal terrorist attacks in Paris get Fundings? The Anti-terrorism group of ethical hackers, Ghost Security Group (GSG), said that ISIS regularly uses cryptocurrencies to fund its terrorist operations. The anonymous member of GSG has uncovered several Bitcoin addresses that they said, might be used by ISIS. One of the accounts they analyzed was found to contain $3 Million in US dollars worth of Bitcoins. Also Read: ?Anonymous? Just Leaked list of 1000 ?ISIS? Twitter Accounts. "The Islamic State does use cryptocurrencies as a form of income to fund their ongoing operations, and we have managed to uncover several Bitcoin addresses used by them," a member of Ghost Security Group said in an interview with NewsBTC. Although there are no actual proofs that cryptocurrencies were used to support the terrorist attacks in Paris, GSG claimed… …it had uncovered several Bitcoin funding sites utilized by the ISIS on the dark web and successfully shut them down to limit the funding extremists receive through the use of cryptocurrencies. Putin: ISIS Financed by 40 Countries, Including G20 Member States At the recent G20 summit, Russian President Vladimir Putin said that ISIS is financed by individual businessmen from 40 countries, including some G20 members. However, Putin hopes that the work with the G20 members in the fight against terrorism will continue. "I think that cooperation in fighting terrorism is very important," Putin told reporters. Putin also calls out Obama for arming and training Fighters for ISIS, saying U.S.-trained rebels were leaving to join ISIS with weapons supplied by Washington. “In my opinion, provision of military support to illegal structures runs counter to the principles of modern international law and the United Nations Charter,” Putin told reporters. -> Sursa: Hackers claim ISIS Militants linked to Paris Attacks had a Bitcoin Wallet worth $3 Million - The Hacker News

Pentru restul rezultatelor accesati: AV-Comparatives - Independent Tests of Anti-Virus Software - Real World Protection Test Overview sau AV-Comparatives Real-World Protection Test - AV-Comparatives -> Sursa: Test in dinamica al produselor de securitate – Noiembrie 2015 (AV-Comparatives.org)
